Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen is our busy garden centre restaurant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef looking to achieve a genuine work-life balance while continuing to deliver high-quality food in a daytime hospitality environment. This position offers daytime shifts between 8-4, and alternate weekends, allowing you to enjoy more time with family, friends and personal interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
- Create and deliver menus that reflect customer expectations and commercial objectives.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Monitor food costs, wastage, and kitchen budgets.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
- Train and support kitchen staff.
- Work closely with the restaurant management team to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a head chef or senior sous chef
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Passionate about producing quality food.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Experience managing kitchen finances, food costs and stock control.
