Hawke Barn Wedding & Events Venue
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and practical self-employed individual to join our team at Hawke Barn, a busy and well-regarded wedding and events venue near Tiverton in Devon.
This is a varied and hands-on role combining cleaning, gardening and general venue support. It would suit someone who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
The Role
You will play a key part in ensuring the venue and accommodation are presented to an exceptional standard for every event.
Your responsibilities will include:
Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Cleaning and preparing on-site accommodation to a high standard
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the venue buildings
- Ensuring kitchens, bathrooms, and guest areas are spotless and ready for use
Gardening & Grounds Maintenance
- Lawn mowing, strimming and general upkeep of grounds
- Weeding borders and maintaining planted areas
- Supporting seasonal planting and landscape work
- Assisting with our tree planting programme (we plant over 100 trees each year)
Venue Set-Up & General Duties
- Assisting with event set-up days
- Moving and arranging furniture as required
- Ensuring all bins are emptied, cleaned and maintained
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is practical, proactive and takes pride in their work
- Has a good eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Is physically fit and happy with manual tasks
- Enjoys working outdoors in all seasons
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Is reliable and flexible around event schedules
Previous experience in cleaning, gardening, or venue work would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
