Halfpenny Yard LTD is recruiting dependable and professional drivers to join our school transport team for the new school year starting in September 2026.
This is a rewarding part-time role transporting children safely between home and school during the morning and afternoon school runs. The position is ideal for people looking for flexible term-time work, including semi-retired drivers and those looking for a better work life balance.

Main Duties
- Transport students safely and responsibly to and from school
- Complete scheduled morning and afternoon routes
- Provide a friendly and professional experience for passengers
- Work alongside passenger assistants where required
- Maintain good communication with parents, schools and the transport team
What We’re Looking For
- Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years
- Reliable and punctual attitude
- Strong awareness of road safety
- Friendly and approachable manner
- Good communication skills
- Experience working with children is welcomed but not essential
- Availability during school transport hours. Morning runs can be anywhere from 07:00 to 09:30. afternoon routes between 14:30 to 17:00 as a rough guide
