Job Summary
We are seeking a capable Workshop Technician to join our team.
This is a part time, temporary role, building up to longer hours and more work in a busy winter season. The successful candidate will show enthusiasm, knowledge, positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The role can expand with your skills and abilities. Could lead to a long term permanent position for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment within our workshop. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in mechanical systems and hands-on work to develop their skills in a professional setting. The Workshop Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of workshop machinery and supporting ongoing projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of workshop equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to carry out maintenance tasks.
- Support the assembly, disassembly, and modification of mechanical components as required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts utilised.
- Ensure the workshop area remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with practical experience in workshop or maintenance environments.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as spanners, screwdrivers etc.
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, or saws is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of fluid pumps and electrical fan motors.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and problem-solving challenges.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical or technical trades are advantageous but not essential. This position is paid and offers an engaging environment for those eager to develop their technical expertise within a supportive team.
- Willingness to take on other, non technical jobs, including preparing pallets, prepareing rental machines for despatch, organising the warehouse and workshop environment.

Pay: From £18.00 per hour
