Job Overview
The provision of efficient, accurate, timely and confidential management of HR & Training within the operation of the RK Bell Group including GWorks Surfacing Ltd.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment of employees for the Group (working with the relevant director / manager). This will include advertising the positions & interviewing.
- Being the conduit between H&S and compliance across the business
- Identifying & development of opportunities with local colleges and training providers to bring new workers into the construction industry and specifically the RK Bell group.
- Representing the RK Bell group at job fairs etc:
- Ensuring development of the skill sets of team members through training.
- Working with the administration team to review training records to ensure that employees have been sent on refresher courses as required.
- Dealing with all HR related functions including issue of contracts of employment and related paperwork.
- Dealing with personnel issues in a professional manner ensuring compliance with current legislation. This will include giving advice to directors / managers as required and writing the relevant correspondence.
- Employee relations, including managing absence, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness.
- Liaising with our external HR Employment advisor to ensure that all company policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law. Ensuring that line managers are up to date with changes to any policies.
- Pension: Dealing with administration issues on the staff company pension schemes
- Implementing new HR initiatives across the group where appropriate
- Implementation of new HR policies, procedures and processes as required.
Skills
- Experience of dealing with challenging individuals.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the management team.
- Confident advising managers & directors on all aspects of people management and development, including assistance with employee 1-2-1 reviews.
- Demonstrable experience in resolution of HR issues.
- Ability to assess government support schemes and the vision to see where they might be of benefit within the RK Bell Group.
- Highlighting and resolving issues that need to be brought to a resolution, e.g. long term sickness.
- Hands on approach with a clear aptitude to work autonomously and ability to drive things forward without being prompted.
- Chartered MCIPD Qualified or equivalent
