HMPPS is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) responsible for the correctional services in England and Wales. HMPPS works with criminal justice partners to carry out sentences given by the courts, in custody and the community. The Probation Service is part of the statutory criminal justice service that supervises offenders released into the community, while protecting the public and preventing victims by changing lives.
Whilst the use of electronic monitoring within the Criminal Justice System has been available for a number of years, t is a whole system expansion programme and ambitious plans to increase the use, number and range of electronically monitored individuals nationally.
The North West Probation region are eager to recruit an industrious Senior Administrative Officer to work with the regional Electronic Monitoring Team to support this work. The regional team are developing how electronic monitoring is integrated into practice and aims to further support Operational Practitioners to be equipped to integrate the different types of electronic monitoring technology available into the overall case management of people on probation.
The postholder will work across a regional footprint, reporting to Regional Electronic Monitoring Leads. The role will involve providing support using a range of administrative functions relating to electronic monitoring. They will have responsibility for arranging and scheduling regional meetings, collating and disseminating data, performance and quality information and ensuring the Regional Electronic Monitoring team oversees progress. They will support the communication link between regional and national business relating to all elements of electronic monitoring.
Working Arrangements & Further Information
The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements w business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.
Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid. HMPPS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, w they meet the demands of the role and business needs. Annual Leave
Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service, plus public holidays. Leave for part-time and job share posts will be calculated on a pro-rata basis
