About the Role
Grow Your Potential CIC is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated HAF Summer Camp Lead to take full responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering our Summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys project management, youth work, community engagement and delivering high-quality programmes that make a genuine difference to children's lives.
The successful candidate will lead a four-week HAF programme supporting up to 60 children and young people. You will be responsible for all aspects of programme delivery including recruitment, safeguarding, volunteer management, food provision, social media promotion, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the project from start to finish and ensure it is delivered to a high standard while meeting all HAF requirements and expectations.

Daily Delivery Times
- Setup: 10:30am
- Activities: 11:00am – 3:00pm
- Pack Up and Debrief: Until 4:00pm
Lateness will be sanctioned.
Daily morning briefings and end-of-day debriefings are mandatory.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and Coordination
- Lead the planning and organisation of the HAF programme.
- Ensure all activities meet HAF requirements and standards.
- Develop activity timetables and delivery plans.
- Coordinate resources and equipment.
- Ensure all delivery is safe, inclusive and engaging.
Recruitment and Enrolment
- Recruit a minimum of 60 eligible children and young people.
- Promote the programme through schools, community organisations and local networks.
- Manage registrations and participant records.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Maintain accurate attendance records throughout the programme.
Volunteer and Staff Management
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers and support staff.
- Ensure all volunteers are appropriately vetted and DBS checked.
- Deliver inductions and programme briefings.
- Manage staff rotas and responsibilities.
- Conduct daily team briefings and end-of-day reviews.
- Ensure staff maintain high professional standards.
Safeguarding and Compliance
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are implemented at all times.
- Complete and maintain risk assessments.
- Monitor incidents, accidents and behavioural concerns.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Maintain compliance with HAF guidance and organisational policies.
Food Provision
- Organise and order lunches daily for all participants and staff.
- Ensure meals meet HAF nutritional standards.
- Manage dietary requirements and allergies.
- Maintain meal records and monitoring documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers and catering providers.
Social Media and Promotion
- Ensure social media platforms are updated daily.
- Capture photographs, success stories and participant achievements.
- Promote activities and community engagement.
- Ensure appropriate media consent procedures are followed.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collect participant feedback throughout the programme.
- Measure attendance and engagement levels.
- Gather evidence of impact and outcomes.
- Produce a final project evaluation report.
- Provide evidence and reports required by funders.
Awards Ceremony and Celebration Event
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and delivering a celebration event on the final day of the programme.
Responsibilities include:
- Organising certificates and awards.
- Purchasing prizes.
- Planning the event schedule.
- Inviting parents and carers.
- Inviting local dignitaries and community representatives.
- Inviting the Active Luton HAF Team.
- Coordinating presentations and celebrations.
- Showcasing participant achievements and programme impact.
Essential Requirements
- Experience delivering HAF programmes, holiday camps, youth projects or community programmes.
- Experience managing staff and volunteers.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience completing risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with children and young people.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Youth Work Qualification.
- Teaching, coaching or education experience.
- First Aid Qualification.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead Training.
- Experience working with disadvantaged children and families.
- Experience managing social media platforms.
