About CDTS North & West
CDTS North & West is a specialist landscaping, hydroseeding and ecological seeding contractor based in Malpas, Cheshire. For more than 30 years, we have delivered projects across the UK for construction companies, developers, highways, rail, local authorities and environmental schemes.
We are looking for a reliable and practical Landscape Assistant to join our experienced team. Previous landscaping experience is helpful but not essential. We will consider inexperienced candidates who have the right attitude and are willing to learn.
Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Alport Farm, Malpas SY14 7DG at the start of each working day. Candidates based within approximately five miles of Malpas are particularly encouraged to apply.
The role
You will work alongside experienced team members on a varied range of commercial landscaping and seeding projects. Your duties will include:
- Planting trees, shrubs, hedges, wildflowers and wetland plants
- Assisting with hydroseeding and conventional seeding
- Preparing ground and seedbeds
- Loading, unloading and moving plants, tools and materials
- Setting up, cleaning and looking after equipment
- Using hand tools and, following training, specialist landscaping machinery
- Helping with landscape maintenance and vegetation establishment
- Following site rules, risk assessments and safe working procedures
- Keeping work areas safe, clean and tidy
- Travelling with the team to sites throughout the UK
The work is physical and takes place outdoors in a range of locations and weather conditions. Regular travel is part of the role, and some projects require overnight stays. When working away, all work-related accommodation and subsistence costs are covered by the company.
Essential requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Comfortable undertaking physical outdoor work
- Willing to travel and stay away from home when required
- A responsible, safety-conscious approach
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions
Desirable but not essential
- A valid CSCS card
- Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance, agricultural or construction experience
- Experience using landscaping tools or machinery
- Experience towing trailers or driving commercial vehicles
Candidates without previous experience or a CSCS card are encouraged to apply.
What we offer
- £27,000–£30,000 per year, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time employment
- 40 hours per week, normally 8am–5pm
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- 20 days’ annual holiday plus public holidays
- All work-related accommodation and subsistence costs covered when staying away
- Required PPE and practical on-the-job training
- Experience with specialist hydroseeding, seeding and landscaping equipment
