Job Overview
Well established and growing veterinary group have a unique opportunity for a veterinary surgeon with a surgical interest/ certificate/ or working towards to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our commitment to animal health and wellbeing. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for veterinary professionals with a passion for surgery and animal treatment to develop their skills within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Conducting surgical procedures on a variety of animal species with precision and care
Preparing animals and surgical instruments prior to procedures, ensuring strict aseptic techniques are maintained
Monitoring animals during recovery from anaesthesia, providing appropriate post-operative care
Assisting in diagnostic assessments and laboratory tests to support surgical cases
Collaborating with veterinary technicians and staff to ensure seamless patient management
Maintaining detailed records of all surgical procedures, treatments, and patient progress
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and ethical standards within the practice

Experience

Proven veterinary experience, particularly in surgical settings, is essential
Surgical interest/ certificate/ or working towards certificate
Laboratory experience is highly desirable to support diagnostic and research activities
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are necessary for accurate record keeping and procedure execution
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and pet owners
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
