The Mastering department has been a fundamental part of EIKONs growth and success, and we need dedicated, driven and enthusiastic individuals to ensure our success continues. Youll be proactive, organised and ready to learn, and well ensure that youre provided with the knowledge and guidance to deliver to EIKONs impeccably high standards.

The Role

As a Junior Media Technician,you will be primarily responsible for the creation (mastering) and QC assessment of digital cinema packages (DCPs) of features and episodic content from major studios and OTT clients.

Full training will be provided, and it will include: the mastering and QC of digital cinema packages, the operation of all relevant equipment and software tools to be able to complete your duties.

Key Responsibilities

Mastering of subtitled, dubbed & original versions of DCPs.
DCP integrity checks and validation.
Theatrical QC of DCPs, evaluating the overall integrity and quality of the content and ensuring picture, audio and subtitles are correct and adhere to industry standards and studio specifications.
Creation of QC Reports, listing and detailing the technical quality and content consistency of all files.
Usage of hardware and software tools, such as DVS Clipster, Transkoder, Eikons project management and mastering systems and digital cinema projectors & servers.
Basic troubleshooting.
Liaising with the account managers and other internal departments, to ensure the transition of work through the building and be able to meet delivery deadlines.
Perform other related tasks as and when necessary.

Skills and Attributes

As this is an entry-level position, relevant experience within a digital cinema mastering environment would be beneficial, but is not essential, since comprehensive training and full support will be provided.

What is essential is your desire to learn, a positive attitude to hard work, and the motivation to grow into a key member of the Mastering department. Its also critical that you have a flexible and proactive approach to meeting tight deadlines.

Beneficial experience may include:

Basic knowledge of picture, audio and subtitle file formats.
Basic knowledge of aspect ratios, resolutions, frame rates, colour spaces & audio configurations.
QC Experience.
Familiarity with timeline-based editing tools.
Tech-Savvy: Standard office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with languages is a plus.
Ability to handle highly sensitive information.
Problem solver and multitasker.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Educational Background

Degree or equivalent qualification in Media Production, Film, or a related field (preferred but not essential with relevant experience).

This position is part of a 5 / 2 dayshift pattern that alternates every week (12 hours per shift with one hour lunch break, 9am 9pm) which includes weekends and public holidays.
