Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness standards, and supporting the daily operation of the café. Typical barista responsibilities include preparing specialty coffee drinks, serving food, operating coffee equipment, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based coffee, teas, and specialty beverages.
- Ensure consistency in coffee preparation, milk texturing, and presentation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take customer orders accurately and process payments through the POS system.
- Assist customers with menu recommendations and product knowledge.
- Serve bakery items, pastries, sandwiches, and other food offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the café, including coffee equipment and customer areas.
- Open and close the café according to company procedures.
- Restock supplies, monitor inventory levels, and report shortages.
- Follow food safety, health and safety, and company operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
- Support the Kavi brand values through professionalism, teamwork, and attention to detail. Baristas are typically expected to maintain beverage quality, customer service standards, cleanliness, stock management, and adherence to operational procedures.
Requirements
- Previous barista experience preferred.
- Passion for specialty coffee and hospitality.
- Knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art is desirable.
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented.

Operational Responsibilities

- Ensure coffee equipment is cleaned and maintained daily.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
Teamwork
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Support training and development initiatives.

Requirements
