The Role:
MedChemica's primary software is the online application MCPairs, which uses science and methodology developed by the directors to design new drugs to treat serious diseases. We are in our 14th year of licensing this web based application to large pharmaceutical companies, biotechs and academic groups. MedChemica has a track record of assisting in producing new candidates drugs that are in clinical development and helping patients. We work in large scale collaborations such as the ASAP Antiviral Consortium and the OpenBind AI Consortium and the ability to work across teams and cultures is very important. You will be working in a team driving forward the continual development of new tools and interfaces for end users.
Requirements:
PhD Degree in Computational Chemistry - applications from new PhD graduates will be accepted
Experience in custom code development for computational chemistry - writing code in higher / object orientated languages like Python and using of chemistry tool kits - the RDkit / OpenEye.
Experience with software version control systems preferably Git.
Ability to travel in the EU and USA on the appropriate visa waiver schemes.
Familiarity with additional systems is a bonus.
An appreciation of full stack development
Experienced with client-server application development using relational databases
SQL database experience for designing for creating database tables and objects, MySQL database preferred

Flexible / Hybrid working - initially expected to be in the office for 4 out of 5 days while becoming familiar with the codebase and project needs.
