Please note, this is NOT a desk based co-ordination role and the duties involve managing the guest facing delivery of events in our Conference Suite & Brasserie - typically across evenings and weekends.

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Conference & Banqueting Manager to oversee the front line organisation and delivery of events within our prestigious venue. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with a strong background in hospitality and Food & Beverage within a hotel environment. Working with the Wedding Coordinator and wider Food & Beverage Team you will ensure exceptional guest experience through hands-on supervision of F&B Teams. You will possess previous experience of team leadership, banquet style catering environments and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of set up and break down procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the front-line customer facing delivery of conference and banqueting activities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the banqueting team to deliver outstanding guest services.
- Assist Events Team in the setup, decoration, and breakdown of event spaces in accordance with client specifications.
- Comply with all statutory and company regulations relating to Health & Safety, hygiene, conduct of employees, fire emergency procedures, security of premises and of property.
- Be fully conversant with Liquor Licensing Laws and Regulations and ensure that there is no contravention of these laws
- Monitor performance of Food & Beverage teams, identifying any areas of poor performance or lack of training and implementing improvement measures
- Ensure that all Conference & Banqueting outlets follow hotel cash handling standards and you and all staff meet all the hotel audit requirements.
- Maintain good communications with the Events Department and all operational departments within the hotel.
- Be responsible for the safe keeping and storage of all hotel owned or hired audiovisual equipment.
- Ensure that the clients queries and complaints are dealt with promptly and personally and serious situations escalated to the GM/DGM.
- Ensure that all glassware, crockery, cutlery and general equipment is stored and used in the correct manner.
- This role also has responsibility for the supervision and management of Brasserie Front Of House in our onsite Grill restaurant.
Qualifications
Proven experience in events management in hospitality - preferably in a hotel environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage guest expectations and requirements
- Experience in delivering event based catering services
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,500.00 per year
