Full job description

Tomlinson Farms is a mixed organic family farm, looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Relief Milker & Herdsperson.

This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the hands-on management of our 120-head organic dairy herd milked through 5/5 Heringbone Westfalia parlour. In addition to assisting with twice-daily milking, the role includes covering key responsibilities such as:

Animal husbandry
Calf rearing
General daily yard duties

You’ll be providing relief cover for our main Herdsman—typically one day per week, plus 35 days of holiday cover throughout the year.

Key Requirements:

Strong experience in animal husbandry and livestock care
High standards of milking and parlour hygiene
Good attention to detail – especially important in organic herd management
Familiarity with organic farming practices (preferred)

Additional Details:

Pay is dependent on experience
Training will be provided so the candidate is familiar with procedures before taking responsibility for relief work.
