As a Post Office Counter Clerk, you will be the face of our community-focused service. You will provide exceptional customer service, helping people and businesses manage their financial needs regardless of who they bank with. Also assisting customers to send and collect parcels with Royal Mail, Parcel Force and Evri. You will be trained to check and send passport forms, complete identity checks, Vehicle Tax, foreign currency and Travel Money Cards
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing: Securely handle cash and cheque deposits, withdrawals, and balance enquiries for personal and business customers.
- Customer Support: Greet customers professionally, assist with bill payments, and guide them through counter transactions,
- Accuracy and Compliance: Maintain high standards of cash handling, ensuring your till balances and adhering to AML (Anti Money Laudering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations. Also making sure all parcels are processed correctly.
- Collaborations: Work closely with colleagues and visiting representatives to ensure smooth daily operations.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience in customer service is essential; previous cash handing or banking experience is a significant advantage.
- Skills: Strong numerical skills (GCSE Maths Grade C or above preferred) and proficiency with computer systems.
- Attributes: A calm, professional manner when handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Requirements: You must be over 18 and able to provide five years of continuous referencing for a DBS check.
