Skilled multi-trade carpenter wanted in Bristol — £38,000–£42,000, company van, fuel card and a steady pipeline of varied commercial work with a busy, well-respected South-West contractor. We back our people with proper kit, funded training, real benefits and the autonomy to get on and do great work.
The role
You'll handle a varied mix of repair and maintenance work across mainly commercial premises — no two days the same. Depending on the job, that includes:
-
1st and 2nd fix carpentry
- Installing windows, doors and door frames (internal and external)
- UPVC servicing and installation
- Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing faults
- Locksmithing (lock snapping, drilling, picking)
- Roofing and general maintenance
- All types of fencing (posts, feather edge, chain link, panels)
- Kitchen fitting, building and minor joinery
Hours: Monday–Friday, plus a paid on-call rota (currently 1 in 8) and optional weekend/night work at time and a half (1.5×). Some lone working, covered by the rota.
What you'll need
-
Minimum 3 years' carpentry experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (or equivalent)
- Full, current UK driving licence with 2+ years' driving experience (you'll take a company van home)
- Happy to complete a licence check, qualifications check and basic DBS disclosure
Nice to have: your own hand tools (power tools provided) and experience across the wider trades above.
What we offer
-
£38,000–£42,000 plus company van and fuel card
- Paid holiday plus bank holidays
- On-call rota (1 in 8) with a standby payment on top of hours worked
- Overtime at 1.5×: call-outs paid per hours worked; planned weekend work paid at a guaranteed minimum of 10 hours
- Tool allowance (and power tools provided where needed)
- Funded training and certifications to help you progress
- Company pension and Cycle to Work scheme
- Employment Hero benefits — remote GP, mental-health support and financial wellbeing tools for you and your family
- Two company social days a year (clay pigeon shooting and similar)
