Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at a local fish and chips shop as a full-time team member. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the preparation and serving of traditional British favourites in a friendly and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service, ensuring a memorable experience for all patrons.

Duties

Prepare and cook fish, chips, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards
Assist with food preparation, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organisation at all times
Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders accurately both in person and via the till system
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Assist with general cleaning duties within the kitchen and dining areas to uphold a hygienic environment
Support team members during peak hours to ensure efficient service delivery

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or similar setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting supplies or moving equipment
A keen interest in culinary activities related to traditional British fish and chips cuisine

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
