Job Description:

As a CAD Drawer/NEST Operator you will be responsible for preparing, editing and nesting customer drawings for profiling production. You will work closely with internal departments and customers to ensure drawings are accurate, production ready and optimised for efficient material usage and machine performance.

You will play a key role in supporting the profiling department by converting customer requirements into accurate manufacturing drawings and nested programs for plasma, laser and profiling machines.

Key Responsibilities:

Producing and editing CAD deawings from customer specifications and drawings
Using SigmaNEST software to create efficient nests for plasma and laser cutting operations
Interpreting customer drawings and modifying files where required to suit manufacturing processes
Liaising with customers and internal departments regarding drawing queries or amendments
Ensuring all drawings and nests are accurate and production ready before release to the shop floor
Optimising material usage and reducing waste through effective nesting practices
Supporting production teams with technical drawings and programming queries
Maintaining organised records of drawings, revisions and production files
Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives within the profiling department
Ensuring work is completed in line with production schedules and customer lead times
Following all company quality and safety procedures

Skills and Requirements:

Previous experience using CAD Software within a manufacturing or steel processing environment
Experience using SigmaNEST software is preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
Strong understanding of profiling, plasma or laser cutting processes
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
Problem solving mindset with the ability to work proactively
Experience within the steel industry is advantageous

39 hours per week
