Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering personal care, companionship, and support in their own homes. Your commitment to patient care will ensure that our clients receive the attention and assistance they require. Vacancy is for Mornings between 8:00 & 11:30 AM, up to 5 days from 7 (including alternate weekends)
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including the using of lifting equipment.
- Support clients with daily activities and engage them in social interactions to promote emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to medical terminology and protocols.
- Offer specialised support for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist with case management tasks as required, collaborating with family members and healthcare providers to optimise client care.
- Provide first aid when necessary and ensure a safe environment for all clients.
Skills
- Proficient in medication administration and understanding of medical terminology.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and their families.
