Sheldon Precision Engineering are a successful sub-contract precision turned parts company, established in 2014. We service a variety of Industries and have built a reputation on quality and reliability.

We predominantly manufacture medium too large production runs of CNC Turned Parts to companies throughout the UK.

Quality Control Inspector

Job Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, and processes meet company quality standards and customer requirements. They inspect, test, and evaluate products during and after production to identify defects, maintain compliance, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods for quality and accuracy
Perform visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests using appropriate tools and equipment such as thread gauges, projector, micrometers & verniers
Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation
Identify defects, non-conformities, and production issues
Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and production teams
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
Monitor production operations to maintain consistent product quality
Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment when required
Prepare reports and recommend improvements to quality procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical certification preferred
Previous experience in quality control or manufacturing is an advantage
Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures
Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer and data entry skills
Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ISO standards or quality management systems
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC)
Certification in quality inspection or assurance is a plus
