We are looking for a Shift Process Operator to join our team at our facility in Westbury. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary and a fantastic benefits package.
What is the role all about?
As our Shift Process Operator, you will take ownership of the Mechanical and Biological Treatment (MBT) process, monitoring and controlling operations from the control room to ensure optimal performance and safety.
What you will be doing:
As our Shift Process Operator, you will:
- Accurately maintain operational records and logs, ensuring all data is up to date and compliant with site and regulatory requirements.
- Manage site deliveries and dispatches efficiently, ensuring all movements are processed accurately and with attention to detail.
- Carry out and support preventative maintenance activities on both fixed and mobile plant to maximise performance and reliability.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment across the site.
- Operate the weighbridge and oversee the receipt and dispatch of waste materials, supporting multi-skilled operations within processing areas to ensure full compliance with planning and permit conditions.
- Operate the process in conjunction with the shift supervisor and provide leadership in their absence.
Normal hours are based on a 40-hour week, from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work 8.5-hour shifts Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday mornings.
Shift one
Monday - Friday 06:00 to 14:30 plus 06:00 to 12:00 Saturday
Shift two
Monday – Friday 13:30 to 22:00
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Previous experience working within a process plant environment.
- Confident in using computer systems, with the ability to accurately record and manage operational data.
- Good understanding of current health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Capable of taking full responsibility for site operations in the Supervisor’s absence, providing clear direction and leadership to the team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in people management.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Telehandler/Forklift certification.
