Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
Vacancy Details
We are looking for an experienced Foreman to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth coordination and execution of steel erection activities, maintaining compliance with company procedures, and adhering to statutory legislation. You will oversee a team, ensuring safe working practices, quality standards, and adherence to project timelines.
Oversee and ensure Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), task briefings, lift plans, and permit systems are in place and followed by the team.
Ensure all site labour under your supervision are appropriately trained and competent for their tasks.
Maintain project programmes and sequences to ensure efficient execution.
Ensure all plant, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are used in compliance with company policies.
Conduct daily briefings, highlighting hazards, discussing tasks, and encouraging team engagement.
Maintain quality control by enforcing company procedures on bolted connections, check sheets, and fault reporting.
To be successful in this role:
6-10 years’ experience in construction with proven expertise in steel erection.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
