Description :
Your Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you lead the end-to-end development of a GSE product portfolio in alignment with the Product Roadmap. You manage a Product Engineer directly and coordinate a wider multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software). Your mission: bring robust, innovative, and eco-friendly GSE products to market on time and within budget — while pushing Powervamp’s zero-emission portfolio forward.
Concretely, you will:
- Execute the Product Roadmap: translate strategic direction into actionable development projects — defining milestones, resources, risks, and success criteria.
- Own product development from concept to commercialisation: ensure targeted objectives — cost, schedule, performance, reliability — are met.
- Drive product management decisions: propose and approve technical choices through rigorous internal processes; contribute to cost reduction and reliability improvement projects.
- Lead industrialisation and ensure seamless production flow: transfer designs to manufacturing in coordination with suppliers, quality and production teams to guarantee robust, repeatable, and scalable production; provide efficient Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reduce shortages and keep products moving fluidly from first article to volume delivery.
- Manage major deliveries: oversee manufacturing contracts and volume deliveries; ensure schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments are honoured.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering (mechanical, electrical, software), sourcing, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and aftermarket — arbitrating priorities and ensuring cohesive execution both locally and globally.
- Monitor market and technology trends: competitive intelligence, customer feedback, emerging technologies, and regulations — to shape product enhancements and roadmap decisions.
- Manage risks proactively: identify, mitigate, and resolve technical, supply chain, and schedule risks through structured reviews.
- Maintain documentation and reporting: project plans, technical specifications, launch checklists, review records, and periodic status reports to stakeholders.
- Lead your team: set objectives for the Product Engineer reporting to you and conduct annual appraisals.
Profil recherché :
The Profile We Are Looking For :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.- 5+ years of experience in product development, product engineering, or project engineering in a manufacturing environment — ideally in heavy equipment, industrial systems, or aviation ground support.
- Proven project management skills: planning, execution, milestone tracking, and delivering to plan.
- Experience in industrialisation: design-for-manufacturability, process ramp-up, and quality controls.
- Strong command of ERP/MRP systems, BOM management, engineering change processes, and production workflows.
- Excellent communicator and influencer — capable of leading cross-functional, multicultural teams and aligning diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset: ability to translate competitive intelligence into product and roadmap decisions.
- Customer and aftermarket focus: you keep real-world usage, service team needs, and aftermarket requirements front of mind from the first design decision.
- Adaptability: comfortable juggling concurrent launch activities, engineering changes, and go-to-market deadlines without losing sight of the critical path.
- Proactive and outcome-driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Your Place in the Organization :
You report directly to the Engineering Manager at Powervamp, Bedford, and lead a Product Engineer. A wider multidisciplinary team (mechanical, electrical, software) supports your deliveries, and you collaborate closely with sourcing, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and aftermarket functions — as well as with TLD engineering teams worldwide. Hierarchy at TLD is short and accessible: your voice carries weight in the decisions that shape our product portfolio, and every level of responsibility is within reach for those who deliver.
Why You’ll Want to Apply :
Powervamp is a business in full growth: major contracts are being won, new products are being launched, and demand for zero-emission ramp solutions is accelerating. You will own a full product portfolio — from solid-state 28V DC battery carts to 400 Hz frequency converters — and take it from concept to airports in 60+ countries. You’ll work at the intersection of power electronics, industrial manufacturing, and aviation service requirements, in an environment where initiative is rewarded and international exposure comes with the role. At TLD, hierarchy is short: your voice carries weight. If you are energised by technical depth, cross-functional leadership, and a real contribution to the decarbonisation of the aviation industry — we’d love to hear from you.
