Job Overview
Reporting into the repair’s supervisor, this role is responsible for maintaining the correct safety standard at all Amicus Trust properties by ensuring the upkeep of the front and back garden and the removable of refuse and rubbish from the properties.
This includes the removal of the rubbish in a safe and clean manner, the reporting of any health and safety concerns within the property boundaries and working to support the facilities team. You will be expected to ensure that all gardens are maintained to the correct standard across the whole of Amicus Trust and that these are monitored for safety purposes throughout the year.
You will be expected to ensure that any and all issues beyond your scope are correctly passed along to the repair’s supervisor so that contractors or the maintenance team can attend. In this instance you may need to liaise with contractors and ensure that their work is up to standard and legal.

Amicus Trust are here for homeless adults who are rough sleeping, considered homeless or at risk of homelessness. Individuals may or may not have a range of complex needs including mental health issues, ex-offending, alcohol dependency or substance misuse. We provide supported housing alongside mental health support, structured supporting meetings and life-skills development.

- Salary; £26,543.49 per annum.
- Hours; full-time 37, per week Monday to Friday (with a 36-minute unpaid break)

What you will do in the role of Groundskeeper:
- Ensuring Health and Safety Standards
- Accessing any risks in the gardens and remedying these in a timely fashion
- Working as a team and liaising with the maintenance and facilities staff
- Monitoring the ordering of gardening essentials
- Prioritising jobs concerned a risk to safety
- Liaising with contractors for outsourcing jobs
- Removing any refuse/rubbish from Amicus Trust properties and disposing of them in the correct legal way
- Ensuring you adhere to the values and mission of Amicus Trust
What you will need:
- GSCE in English and Math (Pass)
- Basic IT skills
- Experience working in grounds keeping and rubbish disposal
- Demonstrates a commitment to Amicus Trust's values and a focus on Health and Safety
- Knowledge of gardening and refuse disposal procedures and processes
- Ability to work in a team and alone
- An ability to respond calmly and positively to unexpected events
- Clear communications skills and accurate record keeping and reporting
- Budgeting and ordering skills
- Demonstrates a good attitude towards equality, diversity and inclusion
- A full driving license with no more then 3 penalty points issued or pending
- A flexible approach to working
- Able to working across a specified area of Amicus Trust accommodations
