Full job description

Roofing Labourer (Self-Employed)

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking self-employed Roofing Labourer to join our growing team. You will work alongside experienced roofers on a range of residential and commercial projects, supporting roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance works. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone keen to learn the roofing trade and progress within the industry.

For the right candidate, we offer a clear development pathway, including full support towards completing a recognised Roofing NVQ once you are ready, providing long-term career progression within the company.

What you will be doing

Assisting roofers with day-to-day roofing works on residential and commercial properties
Carrying and positioning roofing materials including tiles, slates, battens, membranes, insulation, and leadwork materials
Supporting full roof strip-outs, re-roofing projects, and repair works
Preparing roofs for installation, including loading out materials and setting up work areas on scaffolding
Passing tools and materials to roofers while working at height
Using roofing-specific hand and power tools safely and correctly
Keeping roofs, scaffolding, and surrounding areas clean, safe, and organised
Following all roofing safety procedures, including working at height, scaffold safety, and correct use of PPE

What we are looking for

A strong work ethic and genuine interest in learning the roofing trade
Physically fit and comfortable with manual work and working at height
Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Previous roofing or construction experience is beneficial but not essential
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team

Requirements

Self-employed status (CIS registered)
Own basic tools required
Driving licence advantageous
Own vehicle advantageous
CSCS Card advantageous

Weekly pay
£100 to £130 per day, depending on experience
