We are looking for Registered Nurses who have a passion and commitment to providing the highest standards of care to enhance the quality of life of patients and their carers/families.
We are Garden House Hospice Care, the Hospice for North Hertfordshire. We are a multi award-winning hospice that puts the patient at the heart of everything we do. Patients on our inpatient unit are looked after by our specialist team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We provide support and care to patients with a wide range of symptoms associated with a life-limiting illness, as well as their families. We support our patients by providing symptom control, psychological support and end of life care. Our high nurse-to-patient ratio ensures that patients are able to get the dedicated support that they might need.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated Band 5 Registered Nurses to work on our Inpatient Unit.
The Role
What does the Band 5 Nurse role involve?
- Provide knowledge and skills in caring for patients with life limiting illness.
- Support the development and implementation of care pathways and of patient information.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure collaborative working for the benefit of patient care.
- To promote a calm, dignified and informal atmosphere in the Hospice whilst maintaining a professional, safe environment for patients and staff.
- To provide a high standard of personalised and on-going after care for bereaved families and friends.
- Act as a role model and promote excellence in nursing practice.
What skills do I need?
- Current NMC Registration and the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- Relevant clinical experience
- Able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge with an ability to link this to the specialty of palliative care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to manage demanding and sensitive situations.
This is a Full Time role for 37.5 hours a week.
