Night Shift Transport Coordinator
£14.00 per hour | 4 on / 4 off | Permanent | Office-Based
This is a permanent night shift role coordinating truck movements during overnight operations. You will be responsible for monitoring live transport activity, responding to issues as they arise, and acting as the main point of contact for customers and drivers outside normal working hours.
You will often be working independently, making decisions in real time when problems occur. This is not a passive monitoring role — things will go wrong, and you are expected to deal with them professionally and accurately.
Please only apply if you are fully comfortable working nights on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor overnight truck movements to ensure planned services are delivered
- Act as the main point of contact for customers and drivers during night shifts
- Manage delays, issues, and unexpected changes to transport plans
- Monitor systems and operational activity to keep services running smoothly
- Accurately log all activity and provide clear, detailed handovers to the day team
- Follow set procedures and escalate issues appropriately when required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in transport coordination, logistics, operations, or a fast-paced customer service role
- Confident communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple live issues
- Comfortable working independently and staying focused overnight
- Competent using computer systems and operational software
