Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and de-matting to meet each dog’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Assess each dog’s coat, skin condition, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming techniques and products
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-organized
- Handle dogs with care, patience, and professionalism to ensure a positive grooming experience for both pet and owner
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requests and provide expert advice on animal care
- Assist with animal handling tasks such as lifting, restraining, or supporting dogs during grooming procedures
- Follow safety protocols diligently, especially when working with animals requiring special attention or veterinary experience
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog grooming is necessary.
- Strong knowledge of dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their needs confidently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling large or heavy dogs safely and comfortably
- Passion for animal welfare with a caring, energetic attitude towards pet grooming
