Role Summary
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the coffee shop, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth operations, and high standards across all areas of the business. In the absence of the Manager, the Supervisor will lead the team, maintain company standards and ensure the coffee shop operates safely, efficiently, and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
* Lead and support the team during shifts.
* Act as the senior person on duty when the Manager is absent.
* Delegate tasks and ensure team members perform their duties effectively.
* Assist with training, onboarding, and coaching staff to maintain PHIN standards.
* Foster a positive, professional, and supportive working environment.
Front of House Operations
* Ensure excellent customer service at all times.
* Monitor the presentation, cleanliness, and overall customer experience within the coffee shop.
* Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
* Ensure service runs smoothly during busy periods.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and service throughout the coffee shop.
Health & Safety & Compliance
* Manage and maintain all health and safety records and documentation.
* Complete daily, weekly, and monthly compliance checks.
* Ensure food hygiene standards are consistently followed.
* Monitor cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with company procedures.
* Report and document any accidents, incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues.
* Support the business in achieving and maintaining food safety and health & safety compliance.
Back-of-House Operations
* Oversee stock organisation, storage, and rotation.
* Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements to management.
* Receive and check deliveries, ensuring products are stored correctly.
* Ensure preparation areas, storage areas, and equipment are clean, organised, and maintained.
* Support stock counts and inventory management.
* Assist in reducing waste and improving operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within hospitality, retail, or food service.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Good understanding of food safety and health & safety requirements.
* Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.
* Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
* Flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude.

Working Hours
Flexible, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
