Oncology Specialist Nurse – Nottingham

Apodi is expanding its rapidly growing Breast Cancer Patient Support Programme in partnership with a globally renowned pharmaceutical company. In this role, you will manage your own caseload within an NHS clinic setting, conducting both virtual and face-to-face assessments, monitoring patients, and interpreting clinical results.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care as part of a collaborative team of Specialist Nurses
- Manage a defined caseload within an NHS clinic environment
- Conduct holistic toxicity assessments in line with clinical pathways and protocols
- Review and interpret blood results (CBC, LFTs, electrolytes) and ECGs
- Perform clinic-based assessments in accordance with programme protocols
- Communicate outcomes effectively to prescribing HCPs and the wider MDT
- Ensure patient identity is confirmed, consent obtained, and instructions followed prior to assessment
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation for both Apodi and NHS Trust records
- Work closely with NHS teams to support integrated patient care
- Manage workload effectively, working both autonomously and collaboratively
- Report adverse events promptly in line with pharmacovigilance requirements
About You
- Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN (Band 5+) – no restrictions to practice
- Current or recent NHS oncology experience
- Experience working in nurse-led clinics
- Strong background in oncology and Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT)
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a caseload
- Skilled in toxicity assessment and clinical interpretation (ECG knowledge desirable)
- Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills
- IT literate (MS Teams, email, databases)
- Enhanced DBS (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points)
- Breast cancer experience desirable but not essential
Salary & Benefits
- Salary circa £48,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
