Role Description We are looking for a competent, experienced finance lead to oversee the financial performance of the Trust and ensure that all financial processes are compliant with the financial control requirements of the Charity Commission. As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will play a key role in achieving the strategic direction and sustainability of the Trust and will have responsibility for all financial functions of the Trust.
A key element of this role is to Work with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees on setting up a separate entity associated with the Trust E.g. Community Interest Company to manage our housing portfolio in the long-term.
This is a full-time, on-site role based on a beautiful site just outside of Ringwood.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and accounting expertise, including experience in finance and budgeting
- Proficiency in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, assess risks, and support strategic decision-making.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.
- Experience with financial controls, audit processes and compliance .
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and Trustees.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work to deadlines.
- Experience in the social care or charity sector, and an understanding of funding models and commissioning is helpful but not essential. Post qualification experience in a commercial environment desirable.
