This is a key role within the Billing team, suited to a proactive Legal Biller who thrives in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. You will take ownership of end-to-end billing activities and ensure efficient, accurate delivery of daily and routine billing requests. This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Billing and financial administration:
- Manage billing processes end to end, working with billers and the revenue team in line with firm policy and HMRC/SRA rules.
- Attend monthly WIP meetings and action agreed tasks.
- Generate reports and review, post and distribute invoices.
- Prepare, run and amend proformas, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Produce bespoke invoice narratives and manage complex and composite invoices.
- Manage allocated tasks and queries within the Finance inbox.
- Process credit notes, WIP and disbursement transfers and write-offs in line with internal procedures.
- Maintain and update billing data on client and matter files, obtaining Compliance approval where required.
- Provide professional support on internal billing queries.
- Provide cover for team members when required and carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Billing Supervisor and Revenue Manager.
Operational excellence and problem solving:
- Meet deadlines through effective prioritisation and workload management.
- Take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Identify and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure AML considerations are applied where relevant.
Collaboration & stakeholder engagement:
- Work closely with fee earners, executive assistants, legal secretaries and finance colleagues to ensure smooth billing delivery.
- Liaise proactively with legal teams on billing instructions and specific arrangements.
- Support the transition of billing responsibilities into the Billing team.
- Build strong working relationships across the firm, particularly with the Compliance team.

- Experience in a similar billing role within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Elite 3E and eBilling experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of legal billing processes and HMRC/SRA rules.
- Excellent communication, organisational and client service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately under pressure.
- Proactive, solutions-focused and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality and professionalism.
- GCSE English and Maths (A–C or equivalent).
- Confident with numbers and proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
