Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Newry Veterinary Centre, County Down

Come to the dynamic city of Newry, nestled between the Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion, an area of outstanding natural beauty and join our 6-vet-3-nurse mixed practice at Newry Veterinary Centre. We are a warm and welcoming team in a bustling city environment with a wide-reaching farm clientele, giving you the perfect mix of city and rural environments. We also have a fantastic support team on hand to support all of your needs. As an established mixed animal practice and pride ourselves on the delivery of excellent animal health services.

The role will include a flexible mix of clinical work with dairy, beef, and sheep herds covering all Veterinary requirements for beef and dairy herds, and sheep flocks, including reproduction – Fertility, and Scanning, Health Plans, Disease Investigation, and many more opportunities to develop your own client base.

Newry is a great location, with great transport links and is ideal for travel in the North and South of Ireland. Situated conveniently between Dublin and Belfast - only 40 mins from their airports.

You would be joining a dynamic team looking for a hardworking and caring Vet who enjoys a large, diverse caseload. We are looking for someone with initial experience in practice beyond graduation therefore cannot accommodate a New Graduate currently and can be flexible with FT/PT hours. There will also be opportunity for career progression within clinical and/or management.

The Role:

Salary of £40,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience
Mon-Fri 9-6pm plus 1in4 rota
There is flexibility with hours – full time or part time work is available
OOH/ weekend rota – 2 days off in lieu will be given
