Job Summary:
The Design Coordinator supports the Design Manager in coordinating design activities across the project, ensuring design information is delivered on time, meets project requirements, and is communicated effectively to construction and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the coordination and delivery of design information throughout the project lifecycle.

Monitor design progress against programme requirements and highlight potential delays or issues.

Liaise with designers, engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Assist in managing design interfaces between disciplines and work packages.

Coordinate design reviews, workshops, and meetings, recording actions and ensuring they are closed out.

Support the management of design changes and ensure relevant records are maintained.

Assist with technical assurance processes and ensure design documentation is submitted and reviewed in line with project requirements.

Maintain registers for design deliverables, actions, risks, and design queries.

Ensure design information is issued, controlled, and distributed in accordance with project procedures.

Support the Design Manager in resolving design-related issues and responding to technical queries.

Promote compliance with project quality, environmental, and health and safety requirements.

Contribute to identifying opportunities for improved design efficiency and project delivery.
Technical skills and Competencies:
-
Good understanding of design and construction processes within infrastructure, civil engineering, or construction projects.

Ability to coordinate activities across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Good organisational and communication skills.

Experience using Microsoft Office and document control systems.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to programme deadlines.

Understanding of CDM Regulations and health and safety requirements within construction projects.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:

Experience in a Design Coordinator, Technical Coordinator, Engineering Coordinator, or similar role within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.

Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
-
Working towards or interested in achieving professional membership with a relevant institution would be advantageous.
