Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role involves assisting with food preparation, cleaning duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for cleanliness and organisation. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and properly stored
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen area
Support with organising supplies and stock management
Help with serving food and beverages when required
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment
Assist in setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service periods
Support the team during busy periods to ensure efficient workflow

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments is advantageous
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen environment
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and hygiene standards
