Join Our Team!

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Commis Chef to join our busy pub kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a friendly and professional kitchen team. Working alongside our chefs, you will play a key role in supporting food preparation, assisting with the cooking process, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen operates safely and efficiently during service.

What You'll Be Doing

Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
Supporting the cooking and service process during busy periods.
Preparing simple dishes and side orders under the guidance of the chef.
Washing dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and maintaining clean work areas where required.
Receiving and storing deliveries and helping with stock rotation.
Keeping the kitchen organised, tidy, and service-ready at all times.
Following all food safety, health, and hygiene procedures.

What We're Looking For

A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Excellent attention to cleanliness and detail.
Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is essential (preferably at least one years experience) but an element training can be provided for the right candidate.

Health & Hygiene Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and food safety.
Follow all food handling and contamination prevention procedures.
Adhere to allergen awareness and food safety regulations.
Use cleaning products and kitchen equipment safely.
Comply with all health and safety policies, including manual handling procedures.
Help maintain the kitchen's high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
