As an Ethics & Compliance Assistant you will play an integral part of the team in keeping workflow processes going within the department and assisting the Ethics & Compliance department with the day-to-day tasks as more particularly described below.
This role is a 12 month maternity cover and the successful candidate will be Thame based.
The position reports into the Ethics & Compliance Partner and is a great opportunity for a talented administrator to progress their career in legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate & record file reviews

Record keeping and maintaining compliance registers

Manage staff training exercises and the learning management platform

Conduct (limited) client due diligence, in particular in relation to adverse media, PEP, and sanctions results

Responding to certain daily queries within an agreed timeframe

Manage DSARs and data breach procedures
- Additional ad hoc administrative duties

Run, analyse and take appropriate action on compliance reports from the Firms Practice Management System and Case Management Systemto monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement

General admin assistance on:

New starter ethics and compliance inductions

Policy and document creation and management

System and process testing

Internal training and communications

Research

Internal audits and firm risk assessments
What Were Looking For
- Proven experience as an administrator / assistant in a compliance role, preferably at least 2 years ideally in a law firm

Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail when looking at detailed documents

Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Powerpoint

Professional with high standards of integrity, in particular, must understand the importance of confidentiality given the nature of the role
