We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant on a casual basis to work in our busy Restaurant, Meadow Croft Kitchen. The vacancy is for a casual, part-time position, which will include some weekend working on a rota basis.
The role will also involve handling and preparing hot and cold food so relevant experience and/or knowledge of food hygiene and safety would be an advantage (although training will be given).
The role of a Kitchen Assistant includes:
- Food preparation and cooking, with the ability to work on several items simultaneously.
- Undertaking and monitoring food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing of cooked items (and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates).
- Ensuring correct portion control and adhering to the company allergen procedures.
- Working closely with the Head Chef and Supervisors to ensure menu and food consistency/standards.
- Ensuring that all food produced in the kitchen meets required quality standards.
- General kitchen duties, including washing up, and washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and seating areas as required.
- Maintaining an understanding and knowledge of health and hygiene practices, allergen awareness, equipment, product and menus.
- Receiving and processing deliveries.
Please note that, due to the location of our garden centre, having your own transport is preferred.
