Job Title: Math's and Science Teacher
Location: The Tower School, Epping, CM16 4BA
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am – 4.00pm
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

What you will be doing
As part of our multi‑professional school team, you will:
- Teach Maths and/or Science up to GCSE level, planning and delivering engaging lessons for individuals and small groups.
- Support nurture‑based programmes that help students develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
- Monitor, record and report on student progress, celebrating achievements and identifying next steps.
- Contribute to the School Development Plan and help shape ongoing improvements.
- Create a stimulating, well‑organised classroom environment that inspires curiosity and confidence.
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans alongside colleagues.
- Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, tutors and care staff to ensure a consistent, student‑centred approach.
- Support students with challenging behaviour, helping them move from external regulation to self‑control.
- Ensure safety and wellbeing at all times, including during off‑site activities.
- Maintain excellent communication with colleagues, care teams and families to ensure joined‑up support.
What you will be bring
- QTS qualified (or working towards QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Maths or Science.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Brings creativity, patience and resilience to your teaching practice.
- Can adapt lessons to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Is reflective, proactive and keen to continue developing professionally.
- Understands the importance of structure, consistency and positive relationships in supporting students with additional needs.

The Tower School is an independent specialist day school in Epping, Essex, supporting 62 pupils aged 11–18 with autism and complex needs.
