Purpose of the Role:
The Assistant Charity Shop Manager plays a pivotal role in creating a vibrant and welcoming shopping experience that drives sales and strengthens customer loyalty. This position directly supports the charity’s mission to generate vital income, helping to make a lasting difference in Essex and Hertfordshire communities.

About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact while building connections with others? As Assistant Charity Shop Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop, championing customer service, teamwork, and sales strategies. Your enthusiasm and motivation will inspire both volunteers and customers alike, helping the shop thrive as a hub of community and charitable giving.

This is a part-time position, working six hours every Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and maintain an inviting shop layout to maximize sales opportunities and create a positive customer experience.
Manage stock rotation and pricing, ensuring alignment with charity guidelines to optimize sales performance.
Actively promote the Gift Aid program, encouraging supporters to contribute to the charity’s goals.
Lead and support the shop team to consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
Motivate and engage shop volunteers, fostering teamwork and dedication.
Perform daily banking routines with accuracy and care.
Monitor and replenish stock levels and shop supplies to meet operational needs.
Serve as a local ambassador by promoting charity events and raising community awareness.
Ensure the shop remains clean, organised, and welcoming in all areas, including sales floors and stock processing zones.
Take on key-holder responsibilities, opening and closing the shop securely.
Collaborate with colleagues at retail meetings and charity events to align with wider organisational goals.
Work proactively with the Workplace Team to maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
Display adaptability and independence when required for lone working.
