Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Hod Carrier/Labourer to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will assist skilled tradespeople by providing support with materials, tools, and site organization to ensure smooth project progression. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute directly to the successful completion of construction projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop their skills in various trades while working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Safely transport and position building materials such as bricks, mortar, and other supplies around the construction site
Assist with setting up scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment necessary for construction tasks
Support masons and carpenters by handing them hand tools, power tools, and other materials needed for their work
Maintain a clean and organized work area by disposing of debris and ensuring tools are stored properly
Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
Help with basic masonry tasks such as mixing mortar or assisting with bricklaying under supervision
Support roofing teams by passing tools or materials as needed during installation or repairs

Qualifications

Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry equipment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Knowledge of masonry, bricklaying, roofing, or welding is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Ability to perform physical labor including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures and teamwork skills
Prior experience in construction or labourer roles is advantageous but not necessary; enthusiasm and reliability are key qualities
