Quality Assurance Technician

Role Scope:
Lead the daily Goods Inwards and Inspection activities whilst adhering to the company processes, policies, and procedures.
To engage with suppliers to ensure high levels of product and service quality with suitable and speedy resolutions to any issues that may occur.
Manage the plating sub-con and plating inspection process for all internal and externally sourced products.
Conduct and manage the internal and supplier EMS audits alongside the QA Manager/HSE Engineer
Promote all continuous Improvement activities and ensure procedure and process adherence with regards to product quality.
To assist with all Reject notes, 8D (customer) and IRB (internal) investigations as required to ensure product and service quality.
To assist with Stores activities when required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To help to implement and control a comprehensive scheme of quality control consistent with maintaining the company’s reputation for components of proven quality and reliability.
To help to implement and control a programme of component testing as required for the maintenance of any qualification, capability, or component approval.
To help to evaluate new vendors for new materials/processes.
To help to control inspection measuring and testing equipment including the maintenance of calibration database & certificates for all externally calibrated equipment.
To carry out all duties related to Goods Inwards including inspection of products, parts, materials, consumables etc. acting as a contact for suppliers for resolving problems and maintaining Goods Inwards records and filing systems.
To carry out all duties related to inspection including first offs, in-process and final inspections in line with company quality procedures.
To assist the stores department as required.
Daily Tasks:
Goods inwards receipt.
Goods Inwards Inspection and booking.
Production inspection and booking.
Document control (Works orders, CofCs, Advice Notes etc.)
Sample inspection (Plating, rollover, hardness etc.).
First Off inspection.
Monitoring the Hub inspection camera machine.
Managing the calibration system.
Assisting the stores team (Covering absence, busy periods and working patterns).
Additional Tasks: (Including but not limited to)
Conducting ISO9001/EN9100 internal audits as required.
Conducting 8D/IRB investigations as required.
Conducting process audits as required.
Conducting supplier audits as required.
Conducting product testing as required (Flashover, Socket performance, Solderability etc.)
Completing QA Reports (FAIR, ISIR, Chemical and Physical etc.)
Responding to QA/HSE conformance queries (in lieu of QA Manager/HSE Eng).
