Halfpenny Yard LTD is recruiting reliable and caring individuals to join our school transport team for the new academic year starting September.

This is a part-time employed position transporting children safely between home and school on dedicated local routes. We provide the vehicle, fuel card, insurance, and fully fund your taxi driver training and licence, making this an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to start a rewarding new role.

The Role

As a School Transport Driver, you will safely transport children to and from school each day, ensuring every journey is comfortable, reliable, and professional.

Key Responsibilities

Safely transport students on designated school routes
Complete morning and afternoon school runs
Provide a friendly and professional service
Work alongside passenger assistants where required
Communicate effectively with parents, schools, and our transport team
Follow all safeguarding, transport, and road safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years
Reliable and punctual
Good awareness of road safety
Friendly, patient, and approachable
Good communication skills
Ability to work independently
Experience working with children is welcome but not essential

Typical Hours

Morning: Approximately 7:00am – 9:30am

Afternoon: Approximately 2:30pm – 5:00pm

Term-time only.
