We are seeking a skilled and passionate CNC Turner to join our busy machining section. You will take full ownership of the turning process, creating complex, low-to-medium batch components from technical drawings.
The Role:
- Programming & Setup: Program (online/offline), set, and operate 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathes.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to establish efficient machining strategies.
- Material Machining: Work with diverse materials, including Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Steel alloys, and exotics like Inconel and Titanium.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment to ensure tight tolerances are achieved.
- Tooling & Offsets: Select appropriate tooling, adjust machine offsets, and manage machine parameters.
- Maintenance: Perform basic daily machine maintenance and support continuous shop floor improvements.
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a CNC Turner within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Control Systems: Strong, hands-on experience programming and operating with Fanuc controls (or equivalent, such as Mazatrol/Siemens).
- Technical Precision: Proven track record of working to tight engineering tolerances.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate within a small team.
- Qualifications: Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ) are highly desirable.
