Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and physically capable Wayfinding/Signage Installer to join our team for a temporary role of approximately 10 weeks from 20 July 2026.
We are proud to currently be installing a very exciting Heritage Trail in and around Stevenage and require an extra team member! With a base located at Ayot Green, this role involves installing varying directional signs and wayfinding systems across various locations, ensuring clear and effective navigation members of the public to follow the trail. Some signs will require groundworks so experience of this is advantageous.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Team Leader to deliver high-quality installations that meet safety standards and design specifications. Prior experience in signage installation or related trades is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialized skills within the signage and street furniture installation industry.
We also would be looking to offer longer term work to the successful candidate on future projects if this is of interest to the operative.
Responsibilities
- Install various types of signage including directional and informational signs in accordance with design plans and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively during installation processes
- Ensure all signage is securely mounted, levelled, and visually aligned to meet client expectations
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment
- Collaborate with project managers to adhere to installation schedules and site requirements
- Conduct site inspections post-installation to verify quality standards are met
- Assist with the removal of old signage where necessary
- Maintain clean and organised work areas, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly after each job
Qualifications
- CSCS card (essential)
- Own PPE (essential)
- Enhanced DBS (preferred)
- NRSWA (desirable)
- Previous experience in signage installation or related trade is preferred
- Good manual dexterity with the ability to handle hand tools and power tools safely
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy signs and equipment (up to 20kg)
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise installation aligned with design specifications
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is mandatory; willingness to travel to base in St Ayot essential
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various outdoor environments

Pay: £175.00-£250.00 per day
