About us

The Carlton Group is an independent energy development company based in Stokesley, Middlesbrough, TS9 5PT. Delivering energy projects is at our core although the Group portfolio includes other exciting industries such as property and hospitality.

We are looking for an Accounts Ledger Clerk to join our existing passionate and hard-working Finance Team.

Responsibilities:
- Process and maintain accurate accounts payable / receivable records
- Review and verify invoices and purchase / sales orders in a timely manner
- Ensure accurate coding of expenses and invoices
- Prepare and process payments to vendors
- Prepare and process sales invoices
- Monitor and report on sales debtors
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable / receivable
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor / customer files
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial filing system
- Provide support for audits and financial reporting

Skills:
- Experience in accounting software such as Sage, Xero
- Proficient IT skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong analytical skills to analyse financial data and identify discrepancies
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities
