Analox is a well established global leader in the research, development and manufacturing of complex gas sensing products and systems. Our equipment is used across a diverse range of markets and applications such as submarines, space, beverage and deep sea diving. We have 115 people. Analox operates from a purpose built 15,000 sq ft factory and offices in Stokesley Business Park, North Yorkshire, and from a remotely based sales and sales support team as well as a distribution centre in Houston, Texas

Overall Purpose of the Role
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading and managing all purchasing activities within Analox. The primary focus is sourcing suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services across production and projects while maintaining supplier relationships. The role should optimise purchasing processes, maintain and support inventory levels, and achieve cost savings.
Lead, supervise, and support the purchasing team to achieve departmental goals and performance targets.
Work closely with the Operations Management Team to understand business needs and support operational requirements.
Monitor purchasing activities to ensure quality, cost control, and timely delivery.
Ensure non-manufacturing/project purchases are efficient
Cost management and control to demonstrate accountability for achieving company margin targets.
Ensure there is a culture of keeping the system accurate and up to date with minimum stock levels, lead times, economic order quantities etc.
Improvement of stock turns and management of over stocks / slow moving stock.
Accountable for the purchasing manual, all associated purchasing work instructions/processes and keeping them accurate and up to date as this forms a key part of our business quality management system.
Own, maintain and report on the Supply Chain Risk Register, escalating major concerns to the Operations Director for inclusion on the Company risk register.
Monthly report key metrics (KPIs) that are reviewed monthly to support our continuous performance improvement in the purchasing function.
Develop tools for effectively monitoring, measuring & managing supplier performance
Resolve supplier issues, escalations, and team challenges effectively.
Communicate in a timely and professional manner to all relevant internal and external stakeholders to foster the culture detailed by the Analox values & behaviours.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations and specific customer contractual requirements throughout the whole supply chain.
Travel as required to forge and maintain supplier relationships and performance.

Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses as needed to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
