About The Role

Due to continued growth and succession within our Machine Shop we are looking for an additional Team Leader to join our growing Team.

Responsibilities

Lead by example and provide leadership to the machine shop team.
Create work packages using the ERP system and monitor progress through the shop.
Carry out Daily morning meetings to allocate and manage tasks assigned to the team to meet the requirements of the plan.
Monitor and report on the situation relating to the performance of the team.
Measure and record appropriate metrics to support relevant KPIs.
Use these KPIs to determine appropriate actions to improve the performance of the team.
Carry out staff appraisals and reviews detailing coaching requirements where required.
Ensure the workforce has the appropriate skill sets through training and development and that it is motivated and performing to expectations.
Implement best practices to improve production throughput, capacity, quality and reliability.
Any other related duties assigned by the Operations Manager.

Skills and Experience

Ideally you will have previous experience in the manufacture of machined components
A track record in leading a team to success.
Able to understand technical and exploded drawings.
Must be able to create work packages and details.
The ability to operate and set a wide range of CNC and conventional machinery including mills, lathes presses and saws. Able to use manual lathes and mills is would be benificial.
Must be able to maintain a very high quality to tight tolerances.
A strong knowledge of modern manufacturing methods is required to succeed in the role.
Knowledge of, or exposure to LEAN manufacturing techniques.
