Full job description

The Role

We are looking for an experienced part time Facilities Engineer with 16th or 17th Edition electrical qualifications to join our manufacturing facility specialising in the production of blinds and shading systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining factory equipment, building services, and electrical systems to ensure minimal downtime and safe, efficient production operations.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer with strong electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing environment.

Please note this role is part time (16 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across factory machinery and site facilities.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
Maintain lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, and building electrical systems.
Assist with installation and modification of factory equipment and machinery.
Ensure machinery and facilities comply with health & safety and electrical regulations.
Minimise production downtime through effective maintenance practices.
Work closely with production teams to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
Maintain maintenance records and complete job reports accurately.
Support contractors and external service engineers when required.
Participate in continuous improvement and preventative maintenance initiatives.

Essential Requirements

16th or 17th Edition Electrical Qualification.
Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Experience working with motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and control systems.
Good understanding of health & safety regulations within manufacturing.
Ability to work independently.

Desirable Skills

Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory maintenance environment.
PLC fault-finding experience.
Mechanical maintenance experience.
