Full job description

Job Overview
We are looking for a cafe cook and general assistant to work in a BUSY cafe environment. Please see our ideal candidate checklist BEFORE considering working for us. For the right candidate though, we can offer additional hours and qualifications such as Level 3 Food Hygiene.

Each shift is 6 hours and the successful candidate can do 1 to 4/5 shifts per week to suit circumstances. If you are not available during our opening times, we can't offer you hours.

Responsibilities

Cook food to order on a griddle (bacon and sausage) and fryer (hash browns, chips etc.).
Plate food according to the exact plating pattern required OR package food for clean and safe travel to a customers' chosen destination.
Clean and tidy the kitchen and dining area to include sweeping, mopping and pot wash.
Manage stock levels and alert a manager for reorders.
Rotate stock and day dot as appropriate.
Operate cleanly and safely within food hygiene regulations.

Ideal Candidate Checklist

Must be fast paced and efficient in the kitchen.
Must communicate well to ensure food is cooked to order on time.
Must be quick to learn; full training is provided.
Must be able to complete a short trial in place of interview (potentially 30 minutes).
Must have a keen eye for presentation and cleanliness.
Must have experience working a BUSY kitchen.
Must be able to multitask, you will be required to complete multiple orders at the same time from in house, telephone, pre order and online partners.
